The San Sophia Hiking and Wellness Program is designed for individuals that desire a highly structured, goal oriented vacation. Whether your personal goals are to loss a few pounds, kick start a new fitness routine, or learn better eating habits, the San Sophia Hiking and Wellness Program will tailor a program focused around daily guided hiking in the beautiful San Juan Mountains that surround the historic town of Telluride. You will leave the program rejuvenated both mentally and physically and ready for a new approach to your everyday life.

At the San Sophia we combine the 50,000 acre natural health spa that surrounds Telluride with a full body wellness program that combines outdoor experience, gym workouts, yoga, nutrition, and education in a practical sense that can change a person’s lifestyle once they leave Telluride.

Our nutritionist, Lynn Mayer, has created a menu focused protein, fruits and vegetables. Our diet is one that you should be able to incorporate into your everyday routine back home. This food plan is part of the lifestyle change we will teach you while in the Hiking and Wellness Program.

The program is heavily focused on hiking as the main outdoor activity and includes daily guided hikes. Telluride's unique location makes it a hiker's dream come true. Trails range from a gentle stroll down the river trail to climbing any one of the numerous peaks right out of town. With a short drive out of town you have access to 100's of miles of trails in both the Sneffel's Wilderness and Lizard Head Wilderness. Our guides from the San Juan Outdoor School work with the group each morning to find a hike that is challenging, fun, goal oriented, and best suited for the entire group.

Our professional guides will designate you into one of three hiking groups for the day based on your fitness level. It is expected that you participate and give 100% in every activity in order to achieve your personal goals. If you have realistic expectations and are ready to make a lifestyle change, then this is the program for you. You will leave the program refreshed and rejuvenated with a new understanding of your body and how it is to be treated.
